From the initial receptionist at A&E to the my final consult with Professor Chris Bulstrode was all good
The board said 3 hours waiting time but I was seen within 30 minutes and away from the hospital in 90 minutes, the care I received was great.
The only very minor moan would be the displayed waiting time, which doesn't seem to be kept updated - it said 3 hours, we were seen and out again within 1 1/2 hours, which I would say was the same as most patients that were there at the same time as us.
Grossly overloaded with work
Excellent.
Absolutely fine, not terribly confortable, could do with somewhere to rest an injured leg... eg, a few movable chairs
I attended A&E on Sunday 18th September 2011. The staff have a horrendous job to do and have all my admiration for their kindness and patience
The nurse could have been more understanding, she was pragmatic and efficient, but certainly could have been more child friendly!
We were struck by the humanity and quality of all the staff at the John Radcliffe. They treated us with respect and went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable while we were in A&E, that we saw the appropriate doctor and that, when we left, we had the right information to deal with our daughter's injuries.
The first nurse i saw, although she was helpful, seemed very moody and hostile. The second nurse seemed very helpful and friendly, although she did not seem to know much about what she was talking about and did know that i had had an x-ray. It took a longer time than expected to be seen by a doctor after having an x-ray done but overall my experience was relatively good, because the doctor himself was brilliant.
